Next week champions league encounter at Camp Nou between Barcelona and Napoli is to be played behind closed doors as a safety measure against the recent outbreak of Coronavirus.
Barcelona Officials attended an emergency meeting with the Spanish health and sports ministries, and Catalan public health today, and agreed unanimously to play the return leg of the tie behind closed doors.
This simply means that Quique Setien team, who were held to a 1-1 draw at Stadio San Paolo, will not have the benefit of home support as they attempt to reach the quarter finals of the competition.
It had initially been reported that Napoli were attempting to get the return fixture postponed, but the club denied the report on social media and branded the news as fake.
“We support the decision of the Italian government and UEFA.”
