Barcelona manager Quique Setien says the coaching staff have apologised for Eder Sarabia’s behaviour on the touchline during El Clasico.
Barcelona hit the headlines this week after footage emerged of Sarabia ranting about some of the players during the defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Sarabia’s touchline antics prompted reports that the Barcelona players were not too happy with their assistant coach, and there’s bound to be plenty of focus on Setien’s No. 2 when the team return to action on Saturday against Real Sociedad.
Setien has now spoken about the incident and that he will take responsibility for it.
“Of course we have spoken about it. He is worried about it as well. It’s not as though we couldn’t care less. It’s an issue that both of us need to improve. It’s about finding a solution and he is working on it.”
“We don’t like to see things like this, we have committed an error and we should try to avoid something like this happening again.”
“This situation has affected me a lot, because I am concerned about the image of the club. We need to take care of that image, because we can be criticized for substitutions, tactics, etc, but not for our behaviour.”
